The world famous, K-pop star Jungkook has dropped his most
awaited solo album Golden. As expected, he launched the album today at 1pm KST
along with the music video for the title track “Standing Next to You.
The song, ‘Standing Next to You’ is ventured as a
modern understanding of old school sounds from the disco funk genre. It
captures the resolution of going through any difficulty together since their
love together is deeper than anything else.
In Music video of “Standing Next to You” Jungkook is
chasing after a secretive lady, and mainly features the K-pop idol showing his
dance skills through extravagant choreography.
The music video is a top-tier production with Jungkook
pulling off some ‘Michael Jackson’ inspired moves. The bass drum-based
soundtrack to ‘Standing Next To You’ is perfectly addictive, with the theme of
the album being about love, desire and evolving with it being apparent.
In an interview to Yonhap News Agency Jungkook explained
his dream to be ‘a versatile artist who can perform a variety of songs from
different music genres.’
“I think all the experiences of the journey from when
I was called the golden maknae BTS to now when I have my solo album coming out
made me who I am,” he added. “I wanted to put out what shows who I am now into
the album.”
The highly-anticipated Golden album includes a number
of high-profile collaborations with DJ Snake on Please Don’t Change and Major
Lazer on Closer to You. Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes are credited as
songwriters for Yes or No and Hate You.
BTS' Jungkook finally drops his debut solo album
‘GOLDEN’. The title of the album is credited to BTS leader RM, who called JK a
‘golden maknae’ during the early days of BTS. According to Jungkook, the
album's title reflects his current artistic personality, improved by years of untiring
work and countless experiences.
A part of the lyrics of the title track hints at BTS’
relationship with ARMY, which is of unconditional love and walking along.
