All four BLACKPINK members
(Lisa, Rose, Jiso and Jennie) will be continuing their group activities with YG
Entertainment.
YG Entertainment
announced, on December 6, “After careful discussions with BLACKPINK, we signed
exclusive contracts for group activities based on deep trust.”
YG Entertainment’s
executive producer Yang Hyun Suk remarked, “We are happy to be able to continue
our relationship with BLACKPINK. BLACKPINK will continue to do their best to
shine even brighter in the global music market as artists representing not only
our agency but also K-pop, and we send our unwavering support and faith for
their future steps.”
With YG’s support,
BLACKPINK plans to repay the love of their fans around the world by releasing
new music and holding a large-scale world tour.
Recently BLACKPINK has
made YouTube history once again.
On December 4 at around
6:10 a.m. KST, BLACKPINK’s music video for their 2019 hit “Kill This Love”
surpassed 1.9 billion views on YouTube.
Remarkably, “Kill This
Love” is only the second K-pop group music video in history to hit the 1.9
billion marks, following BLACKPINK’s own “DDU-DU DDU-DU.” It is also only the
third K-pop music video to reach the milestone overall (the first being PSY’s
“Gangnam Style”).
